Porcunipine Review

Porcunipine is an arena combat game where you and your friends try to hit each other with quills.

The core gameplay is built around dying in a single hit, and needing to pick up your quill after shooting. This keeps the game fast paced and the stakes high. It’s a fun concept for a game, but it isn’t expanded on and only feels like the framework of a game. Quills bounce off walls, but aside from that, there really aren’t any other game mechanics. Some of the levels have unique designs that add variety to the game, but not enough to compete with other games in the “1 hit kill” genre.

Visually, the game is decent, but this genre also doesn’t rely on graphics. They get the job done, and nothing more. The sound design is solid, with music and sound effects that mesh with the gameplay quite well.

Porcunipine has some problems with content and depth, ultimately resulting in a simplistic, yet enjoyable game. It is overshadowed by a number of other games in the same genre, but it’s still worth a shot if you want to try something new and it looks interesting to you.
