LOVE is a hardcore platformer with a range of difficulty options for every type of player.
The levels are designed very well and each has a unique theme, as well as unique platforming challenges. You won’t encounter any repetitive level design because of how creatively structured each level is. Because they are all so different, dying is inevitable and a major part of the game.
The normal difficulty level gives you 100 lives and unlimited checkpoints, which must be manually placed. Harder difficulties add more restrictions, but most people will have the best experience at the default difficulty. The controls are fluid and precise, ensuring every death feels like you made a mistake, rather than the game tripping you up with a cheap trap.
Graphically, the game is great, with some top tier pixel art. Each level looks completely different, and a lot of that is because of the stylistic choices for each background theme.
The soundtrack is solid and works well with the short game length to help ensure it doesn’t get repetitive. LOVE is an all-around good game, without any major flaws, aside from, arguably, its length.
