DYO Review

DYO is a co-op puzzle platformer that cleverly uses the split-screen camera to create perspective-based puzzles. You and your partner have the ability to freeze your camera and link your screens together. It is a fun and interesting mechanic that has a lot of possibilities. You can use the perspective changes to grow or shrink your character, or you can use one half of the screen as a platform to get to the other half.

After the first few levels, the game branches out into three sections that each have brand new mechanics. They add variety to a game that could have become stale if it kept using the same exact mechanics for every puzzle.

The game is fairly short, although it’s free, so it’s not necessarily a surprise. Still enjoyable, but not an amazing puzzle game like Baba Is You or Portal 2.
